Sid and Kay's wedding

Two weekends ago we were in Fayetteville so that we could celebrate the wedding of my Daddy Sid to his bride, Kay.  They had a small ceremony for family, in which Emmett and Olivia were flower children and walked down the aisle with Kay's grandchildren.  Afterwards, they had a reception for friends and family and we all had a great time.  Here are some pics I took of the big day!

He looked SO freakin' cute... shirt and belt from Once Upon a Child, shorts are borrowed and clearance shoes from Old Navy (mama's spottin deals!)

Ah! They both looked adorable.  Note Em's boutonniere!

What an angel (notsomuch)

Busted!

Finally eating the cookie he'd been spying for an hour.

I didn't get a pic of Drewbee at the wedding, but here he is zonked out later that day!
Oh, and I took some video on the night of the rehearsal.  Not surprisingly, the day of the wedding Emmett got major stage fright and refused to walk down the aisle...without me.  So, I was a "flower child" in the wedding too and I was super embarrassed the entire time.  But Em made it down and that's all that mattered.   Anyway, here's some video of what should have happened....

"Baby Drew" gets baptized

Two weekends ago we drove up to Little Rock to participate in Drew's baptism.  I was honored to be asked to be Drew's godmother; his godfather is Kathryn's oldest nephew, Zachary, who is 13.  Kathryn was about the same age when she was asked to be Zachary's godmother.  Isn't that awesome?  I love it.

Drew has two boy cousins who were born 3 weeks before (Isaac) and 3 weeks after (Quinn) him.  He's right in the middle of the 3 musketeers, which is just one of the many nicknames I'm sure this trio will be referred to as.  It's so cool for these boys to be so close in age and grow up together.  They are lucky guys.

This was the first of many joint celebrations that will occur in the boys' lives.  All of the boys were baptized on the same night by their uncle Tony, with most of their family present.  It was a special night and I'm so glad to have been a part of it.  Here are a few pictures I took.  All of them can be seen in the June photo album.

He is SO sweet!

This is about the best you can hope for when taking a picture with Livie ;)

June bugs

I took some pictures while the kiddos were playing with bubbles last weekend in Fayetteville.  The screams that accompanied these wide grins were definitely close to deafening.  But, we were outside and they were having a great time and baby Drew was even able to sleep through it all.  That's a win-win-win!

Bubble-mania!

These pictures honestly speak for themselves.  Eric grabbed Em's new bubble wand (a gift from Livie) and started blowing bubbles.  The kids screamed and ran with joy for a solid ten minutes.

Turning three in Fayetteville

By some crazy stroke of luck, Emmett has spent every birthday in Fayetteville so far.  Even though this year we also wanted to do something separate for his friends in El Do, it's been fun to celebrate there with family each year.

On his actual birthday Em woke up at Aunt Sara's house (she babysat the night before while we were at cousin Grace's wedding) and had some cinnamon rolls with birthday candles.  Then Eric and I met up with Em and Sara at Arsaga's Depot on Dickson for birthday crepes (delish).  After that we took him up to the U of A campus to look around.  We marveled at how much new construction there is - quite a lot has changed since our time there years (but not that many years!) ago.  Anyway, we had fun and it was a great day for walking around.

Later that evening we had some family over for burgers on the grill.  Em started the evening off with this throwback gift from Momsie and Pops - a BIG wheel!  He took some time getting used to it.  But when Aunt Sara told him he could squash ants with the wheel, he was ready to go.

Never actually mastered the pedals, however.
Uncle J-Razz and "Awex" read Livie and Em the books that they gave him (Not Your Typical Dragon).
GeeGee and "baby Drew" as Em always calls him.
Em got another birthday song - this time we gave him Shake's chocolate ice cream with sprinkles - his FAVORITE!
The next day was gorgeous, so we took the kids outside to play and they took turns riding the big wheel down the small hill in the backyard.

So fun!

Livie loved it too! (Em looks like he didn't really love waiting, though)

Eric really got into the whole "pretend you're a dragon" thing.

Stop. It.

Adorbs.

I know, he's too much.
What a fun weekend!  I don't know if we will always be able to celebrate Em's birthday with family, but it sure is awesome that we've been able to so far.  What a lucky boy!  You can see all the photos from the weekend in the May photo album.
